The Best Beaches on Paxos and Antipaxos for Families with Young Children
Most Paxos beaches are white pebbles that drop off quickly into deep, clear water: wonderful for swimmers, harder with toddlers. A handful have sand or shallow water and are easy to reach, and those are the ones to pick with young children.
All five below are a short walk from the car or the boat.
1. Harami

In Lakka Bay, a few minutes' walk from the village on a shaded path, Harami has a sandy seabed and shallow, clear water. There's a taverna, sunbeds and umbrellas, and watersports in summer.
Good to know: The bay is sheltered, so it stays calm on most days.

Paxos' sandy beach at the southern tip, about 3 km from Gaios and reachable by car. Shallow water, shade and shelter from the wind make it the island's top pick for small children, with sunbeds, a taverna and watersports.
Good to know: The sand is man-made and the beach gets busy: arrive in the morning for shade.

About 1 km north of Gaios, right by the road with parking behind, Kaki Lagada is a pebble beach with shallow water, popular with people staying in town.
Good to know: Water shoes make the pebbles easier for little feet.

Just north of Gaios, Kloni Gouli is a wide pebble beach you can drive right up to, with some shade. It's unorganised, so bring everything you need.
Good to know: An easy choice for grandparents too: there's no path to climb.

On Antipaxos, 15 minutes by water taxi from Gaios, Vrika has soft white sand that slopes gently into shallow, electric-blue water, with tavernas and sunbeds in summer. The boats land right on the beach.
Good to know: Take an early boat and come back before the afternoon wind gets up.
