Akoli beach guide
Akoli is a small, rocky pebble cove on the northeast coast near Kassiopi, reached on foot or by boat. The water is crystal clear, and the snorkelling along the rocks is excellent.
There are no facilities at all, so bring water, and wear trainers for the path and water shoes for the large stones at the shore. The path is only partly shaded. It's usually quiet, though boats tend to arrive later in the day.

About Akoli
- Is Akoli a sandy beach?
- No, Akoli is a pebble beach, so water shoes are handy. Facilities: unspoiled nature and snorkelling.
- Is it easy to park at Akoli?
- Roadside parking. Spaces are limited and fill up early in summer, so arrive before 10:00 or come by scooter or bus. It's a 25 minute walk from the road, and the last stretch is a dirt track.
- When is Akoli least crowded?
- It's rarely crowded, even in August. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
- Which wind is best for swimming at Akoli?
- The beach faces east, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the west and gets waves when it blows from the east. It stays sheltered when the summer maistros (northwesterly) blows, which makes it a good choice on windy afternoons.
