Aspri Ammos beach guide

Aspri Ammos, "white sand", is a beach of fine white sand and pebbles at the foot of a steep, smooth cliff on Othonoi's west coast, with clear turquoise-green water. There's no road or path down: you come by boat, either on a day cruise from Agios Stefanos on Corfu, which stops here for a swim, or on a small boat from Ammos, Othonoi's port.

Calypso's Cave is just past the beach. Local tradition makes Othonoi Homer's Ogygia, where the nymph Calypso kept Odysseus for seven years, and the cave is the island's best-known sight. There are no services at all on the beach and no phone signal, so bring everything and agree the pick-up time with your boat before it leaves.
