Kavos beach guide

Kavos, near Corfu's southern tip, is the island's best-known party resort and has been since the 1980s. Its long sandy beach stretches for roughly 2 km, with shallow water close to the shore; seaweed sometimes washes up.

The beach has every kind of watersport, from inflatables and banana boats to jet skis and waterskiing, and the bars and clubs run from late evening until sunrise. For somewhere quieter nearby, try Arkoudilas, a short drive south.

Kavos is about 45 km from Corfu Town, at the far end of the island.

About Kavos

Is Kavos a sandy beach?
Yes, Kavos is a sandy beach. Facilities: sunbeds, taverna, and watersports.
Is it easy to park at Kavos?
Paid parking. Spaces are limited and fill up early in summer, so arrive before 10:00 or come by scooter or bus. It's a 5 minute walk from the road.
When is Kavos least crowded?
It's one of Corfu's most popular beaches: in July and August it's busiest from 12:00 to 16:00, so arrive before 10:00 or after 17:00. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
Which wind is best for swimming at Kavos?
