Arkoudilas beach guide

Arkoudilas is a wild, mostly undeveloped beach near Corfu's southern tip, about 2 km from Kavos. The shore is coarse sand mixed with fine gravel, and the clear water is pleasant for swimming.

You reach it on a rough dirt road through the forest, so drive slowly. Facilities are minimal: in summer there are a few sunbeds and umbrellas and a small bar or canteen.

In the pine woods high above the beach stand the ruins of the Arkoudilas monastery (Panagia Arkoudila), a fortified building from around the 18th century. A track leads up to it, with wide sea views from the top.
