Rovinia beach guide
Rovinia is a cove of white pebbles and sand under steep cliffs just south of Liapades, with very clear turquoise water. Strong swimmers can reach sea caves along the rocks.
You get there on foot: from the parking area above the cove, a mostly shady path drops through the trees, ending in a steep, uneven stretch down to the beach. Depending on where you park, it's a few hundred metres to around 800 m. Many people also arrive by boat or water taxi from Liapades.
There are no sunbeds or tavernas on the beach; in season a canteen boat sometimes anchors in the bay selling drinks and snacks, but bring water anyway. The cliff gives shade for part of the day. It gets busy in high summer, so arrive early.

About Rovinia
- Is Rovinia a sandy beach?
- Yes, Rovinia is a sandy beach. Facilities: snorkelling and unspoiled nature.
- Is it easy to park at Rovinia?
- Roadside parking. Spaces are limited and fill up early in summer, so arrive before 10:00 or come by scooter or bus. It's a 15 minute walk from the road, and the last stretch is a dirt track.
- When is Rovinia least crowded?
- It gets busy around midday in July and August; mornings and late afternoons are calmer. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
- Which wind is best for swimming at Rovinia?
- The beach faces west, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the east and gets waves when it blows from the west. The summer maistros, a northwesterly that picks up in the afternoon, often makes it choppy, so mornings are best.
