Alipa beach guide
Alipa is a small beach of pebbles and sand next to the little harbour of Paleokastritsa, on the northwest coast. Its main role is as the departure point for boats: water taxis, rental boats and trips to the sea caves, from short tours to half-day excursions to the coves along the coast.
Because of the boat traffic, it's better for a quick dip than for a whole beach day. It's quietest before 10:00 and after 16:00.

About Alipa
- Is Alipa a sandy beach?
- No, Alipa is a pebble beach, so water shoes are handy. Facilities: sunbeds, taverna, and snorkelling.
- Is it easy to park at Alipa?
- Paid parking. Spaces are limited and fill up early in summer, so arrive before 10:00 or come by scooter or bus. You can drive right up to the beach.
- When is Alipa least crowded?
- It gets busy around midday in July and August; mornings and late afternoons are calmer. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
- Which wind is best for swimming at Alipa?
- The beach faces north, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the south and gets waves when it blows from the north. The summer maistros, a northwesterly that picks up in the afternoon, often makes it choppy, so mornings are best.
