Ipsos beach guide
Ipsos is a long, narrow beach of small pebbles, about 1.5 km, on the east coast north of Corfu Town. The main coast road runs right behind it. Once you're in, the seabed is mostly sand, and the water is shallow and calm.
It's a lively resort beach with sunbeds, beach bars and tavernas, plenty of watersports and a diving school, and the evenings revolve around bars. Mount Pantokrator rises behind the bay.
Ipsos is about 15 km from Corfu Town, around 35 minutes on the blue city bus (route 7), which stops by the beach. Parking is along the main road.

About Ipsos
- Is Ipsos a sandy beach?
- No, Ipsos is a pebble beach, so water shoes are handy. Facilities: sunbeds, taverna, watersports, and family friendly.
- Is it easy to park at Ipsos?
- Roadside parking. There's usually space, even in high season. You can drive right up to the beach.
- When is Ipsos least crowded?
- It's one of Corfu's most popular beaches: in July and August it's busiest from 12:00 to 16:00, so arrive before 10:00 or after 17:00. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
- Which wind is best for swimming at Ipsos?
- The beach faces east, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the west and gets waves when it blows from the east. It stays sheltered when the summer maistros (northwesterly) blows, which makes it a good choice on windy afternoons.
