Dassia beach guide
Dassia is a long beach of coarse sand, shingle and pebbles on the east coast, about 2.5 km in all, becoming narrower and more pebbly towards the north. A promenade shaded by mulberry trees runs behind much of it.
The sea is usually calm, warm and shallow. It's a busy, well-equipped resort beach: sunbeds (many run by the hotels), beach bars, showers and one of the island's biggest choices of watersports, including parasailing, wakeboarding, waterskiing and paddleboarding, plus a diving centre. It was awarded a Blue Flag in 2026.
Dassia is about 13 km north of Corfu Town, around 35 minutes on the frequent blue city bus (route 7).

About Dassia
- Is Dassia a sandy beach?
- Dassia has a mix of sand and pebbles. Facilities: sunbeds, taverna, watersports, and natural shade.
- Is it easy to park at Dassia?
- Paid parking. Spaces fill up around midday in July and August. It's a 5 minute walk from the road.
- When is Dassia least crowded?
- It's one of Corfu's most popular beaches: in July and August it's busiest from 12:00 to 16:00, so arrive before 10:00 or after 17:00. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
- Which wind is best for swimming at Dassia?
- The beach faces east, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the west and gets waves when it blows from the east. It stays sheltered when the summer maistros (northwesterly) blows, which makes it a good choice on windy afternoons.
