Kontokali beach guide

Kontokali has small beaches on the sheltered shore of Gouvia Bay, close to Corfu's main marina and only a few kilometres from Corfu Town. The shore is a mix of pebbles and sand.

Because the bay is sheltered from the wind, the water is calm and good for swimming. Much of the beach is in front of a large hotel but open to the public, with showers and sunbeds and umbrellas to rent. It was awarded a Blue Flag in 2026.

About Kontokali

Is Kontokali a sandy beach?
Kontokali has a mix of sand and pebbles. Facilities: sunbeds, taverna, and family friendly.
Is it easy to park at Kontokali?
Roadside parking. Spaces fill up around midday in July and August. You can drive right up to the beach.
When is Kontokali least crowded?
It's rarely crowded, even in August. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
Which wind is best for swimming at Kontokali?
The beach faces east, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the west and gets waves when it blows from the east. It stays sheltered when the summer maistros (northwesterly) blows, which makes it a good choice on windy afternoons.
