Issos beach guide

Issos is a long, open sandy beach on the southwest coast, backed by wind-built dunes several metres high. It belongs to the protected Natura 2000 area around Lake Korission, the lagoon just behind it, so most of it has been left undeveloped.

The prevailing winds keep the sea lively, and Issos is one of Corfu's main spots for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The water is shallow near the shore, but expect waves on windy afternoons. There are some sunbeds and a few bars, and plenty of room to find a quiet stretch of your own.

Issos was awarded a Blue Flag in 2026. It's roughly 25–30 km from Corfu Town, and parking near the beach is easy. Please stay off the dunes themselves: they're fragile and protected.
