Kastelli beach guide

Kastelli is a small, secluded pebble cove on the west coast near Paleokastritsa, with very clear water that gets deep close to the shore, which makes it good for snorkelling but less suited to small children.

The only way in is by boat. Small boats can be hired in Paleokastritsa, and the trip from the harbour takes about 20 minutes.

About Kastelli

Is Kastelli a sandy beach?
No, Kastelli is a pebble beach, so water shoes are handy. Facilities: unspoiled nature and snorkelling.
Is it easy to park at Kastelli?
There's no road to the beach, so there's no parking there: you arrive by boat. Park near the harbour or beach your boat leaves from.
When is Kastelli least crowded?
It's rarely crowded, even in August. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
Which wind is best for swimming at Kastelli?
The beach faces northwest, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the southeast and gets waves when it blows from the northwest. The summer maistros, a northwesterly that picks up in the afternoon, often makes it choppy, so mornings are best.
