Kouloura beach guide

Kouloura is a tiny horseshoe-shaped fishing harbour on the northeast coast, just north of Kalami, often called the most photographed harbour on Corfu.

Beside the harbour is a small bay of sand and pebbles, roughly 80 metres long, with clear water. It's rarely crowded, and there's a taverna by the harbour.

About Kouloura

Is Kouloura a sandy beach?
No, Kouloura is a pebble beach, so water shoes are handy. Facilities: taverna and snorkelling.
Is it easy to park at Kouloura?
Roadside parking. Spaces are limited and fill up early in summer, so arrive before 10:00 or come by scooter or bus. It's a 2 minute walk from the road.
When is Kouloura least crowded?
It's rarely crowded, even in August. Outside June–September it's quiet all day.
Which wind is best for swimming at Kouloura?
The beach faces east, so it's calmest when the wind blows from the west and gets waves when it blows from the east. It stays sheltered when the summer maistros (northwesterly) blows, which makes it a good choice on windy afternoons.
